| Mark Huston: Schuh & others in Mosonszentpeter | First, I apologise for sending this message in English. I am writing from Maple Ridge, BC, Canada. I am interested to know if I can make connections with anyone that recognises names from below.
My grandfather, Martin SCHUK (born SCHUH) was born 17 Oct 1881 in Mosonszentpeter (now part of Janossomorja). He moved to Canada in about 1906 and settled on the Prairies. He married my grandmother, Sarah HAMM, and they settled in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, Canada, before moving with family to British Columbia. He died 1 Apr 1979 in Kamloops, BC.
Martin SCHUH's parents were Martin SCHUH (b. 1841) and Maria WOLKERSDORFER (b. 1854). Siblings included: Josephus (b. 1873), Maria (b. 1875), Anna (b. 1883), and Joannes (b. 1886). Joannes, or John, may also have moved to Canada.
The next generation back included Martin's parents, Joseph SCHUH and Theresia KNOTZ (1814-1874). Their kids also included: Magdalena, Paulus, Jsevan, Elisabetha, Theresia, Mathias, Josephus, Maria, Mathias, and Joannes.
Maria's parents were Joannes WOLKERSDORFER (1820-1863) and Maria Wennes. Their kids also included: Anna, Joannes, Joannes, and Paulus.
In the next generation back, names include: Joannes SCHUH, Elisabetha OSWALD, Stephanus KNOTZ, and Maria REIDELBERGER.
Again, I apologise for the language barrier, and I look forward to hearing from anyone with connections to the family above.
Thank-you.
